The NORDIC PURE 16x20x1PM10C-3 is a pleated MERV 10 air filter with an activated carbon layer, sold in a 3-pack for residential and light commercial HVAC systems. The dual-material construction fuses a MERV 10 electrostatically charged filter media with an activated carbon layer, delivering both particulate capture and odor reduction in a single filter. The pleated design increases surface area by approximately 33 percent compared to flat-panel filters, reducing airflow restriction while improving filtration performance. The filter measures 15.5 x 19.5 x 0.75 inches actual size and weighs 2.5 pounds per pack. Licensed HVAC technicians and experienced DIYers typically install this filter in forced-air furnace and air handler applications.
This filter is designed for standard 1-inch filter slots in residential furnaces, air handlers, and central air conditioning systems. The activated carbon layer traps odorous gases and volatile organic compounds (VOCs) in addition to capturing lint, household dust, pollen, smoke particles, dust mites, pet dander, virus carriers, mold spores, and allergens. It is well suited for households with pets, smokers, or occupants with allergies or sensitivities to airborne particulates and odors. The antimicrobial media inhibits bacterial and mold growth within the filter itself. MERV 10 performance is equivalent to MPR 1000 ratings used by other manufacturers.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement filter for residential and light commercial forced-air furnaces, air handlers, and central air conditioning systems using a standard 1-inch filter slot with a nominal 16x20x1 inch opening. Verify the actual filter slot dimensions against the actual size of 15.5 x 19.5 x 0.75 inches before ordering, as nominal and actual sizes differ.
Installation is typically performed by a licensed HVAC technician or a knowledgeable homeowner. Always set the thermostat to off and confirm the air handler or furnace blower has stopped before removing the existing filter. Note the airflow direction arrow printed on the filter frame and orient the replacement filter so the arrow points toward the blower. Nordic Pure recommends replacing this filter every 30 to 90 days depending on household conditions, with more frequent changes during home renovation or high-dust periods.
