The NORDIC PURE 16x20x1PM10C-12 is a MERV 10 pleated air filter with an activated carbon layer, sold in a 12-pack. The dual-material construction fuses a MERV 10-rated pleated media with a carbon layer, delivering both particulate capture and odor control in a single filter. The actual size is 15.5 x 19.5 x 0.75 inches, fitting standard 16x20x1 nominal filter slots. Permanently electrostatically charged media acts as a magnet for airborne particles. Antimicrobial treatment inhibits bacterial and mold growth on the filter media. This filter is installed by HVAC technicians and knowledgeable homeowners in residential forced-air heating and cooling systems.
These filters are suited for residential and light commercial forced-air systems where both particulate control and odor reduction are priorities. The activated carbon layer adsorbs volatile organic compounds (VOCs), smoke odors, and other gaseous contaminants while the MERV 10 pleated media captures lint, household dust, pollen, dust mites, pet dander, virus carriers, mold spores, and bacteria. The heavy-duty, moisture-resistant beverage board frame and internal metal mesh support grid maintain pleat geometry under normal system static pressure. Filter replacement is recommended every 30 to 90 days depending on indoor air quality conditions and usage environment.
Designed as a drop-in replacement for standard 16x20x1 nominal residential forced-air furnace and air handler filter slots. Actual dimensions are 15.5 x 19.5 x 0.75 inches. Verify the actual opening size before installation, as nominal and actual filter dimensions differ across equipment brands.
Installation is performed by licensed HVAC technicians or qualified homeowners. Power down or set the thermostat to off before opening the filter compartment to prevent unfiltered air from bypassing the media during changeout. Install the filter with the airflow arrow on the frame pointing toward the blower or furnace cabinet. Follow local mechanical codes and the equipment manufacturer's maintenance schedule for filter replacement intervals.
