Product Description

The NORDIC PURE 16x20x1PCP-4 is a pure carbon pleated air filter rated at approximately MERV 8 efficiency, sold in a 4-pack. The filter media is a non-woven polyester base infused with activated carbon derived from charcoal and coconut shells. This construction captures large airborne particles while simultaneously absorbing odors and volatile organic compounds (VOCs) at a molecular level. It is installed in residential HVAC systems and can also serve as a pre-filter in commercial units where odor control is a priority. Licensed HVAC technicians and knowledgeable DIYers handle installation.

This filter is designed for residential forced-air heating and cooling systems, including gas furnaces and central air conditioners with standard 1-inch filter slots. The nominal size is 16x20x1, with an actual size of 15.5 x 19.5 x 0.75 inches. It is well suited to apartments, single-family homes, and light commercial environments where pet odors, cooking smells, smoke, bathroom odors, or VOCs from cleaning products are ongoing concerns. Installation Notes

Power down or set the thermostat to off before removing the existing filter to prevent unfiltered air from circulating through the system. Note the airflow direction arrow printed on the filter frame and orient it toward the blower, not toward the return duct. Nordic Pure recommends replacing this filter every 30 to 90 days depending on odor load and household conditions such as pets, renovation activity, or high occupancy. Dispose of the used filter in a sealed bag to contain captured particulates and absorbed odors.
