The NORDIC PURE 16x20x1M14+C-6 is a MERV 14 pleated air filter with an integrated activated carbon layer, sold in a 6-pack. The electrostatically charged synthetic media captures fine airborne particulates while the activated carbon panel adsorbs odorous gases and volatile organic compounds (VOCs). The nominal size is 16x20x1 inches with an actual size of 15.5 x 19.5 x 0.75 inches. A metal mesh support grid is bonded to the pleats for structural integrity, and the beverage board frame is moisture resistant. This filter is installed in residential and light-commercial HVAC systems by HVAC technicians or experienced homeowners performing routine filter maintenance.
This filter is suited for residential forced-air heating and cooling systems where both fine particulate control and odor reduction are priorities. It performs well in newer high-efficiency systems designed to handle MERV 14 and above. The dual-stage design addresses airborne dust, pollen, mold spores, pet dander, smoke, bacteria, and dust mite debris in a single filter. Because of the higher filtration efficiency and associated airflow restriction, the HVAC system must be rated to accommodate MERV 14 filters before installation. Nordic Pure MERV 14 Plus Carbon is rated equivalent to MPR 2800.
Designed as a MERV 14 OEM-style replacement filter for residential and light-commercial forced-air HVAC systems with a 16x20x1 inch nominal filter slot. System must be rated to handle MERV 14 filtration or higher. Confirm actual filter opening dimensions against the actual size of 15.5 x 19.5 x 0.75 inches before installation.
Filter replacement is typically performed by a licensed HVAC technician or a knowledgeable building owner. Power down or set the thermostat to the off position before accessing the filter compartment to prevent unfiltered air from bypassing the media during changeout. Verify airflow direction and install the filter with the airflow arrow pointing toward the blower. Nordic Pure recommends replacing this filter every 30 to 90 days depending on indoor air quality conditions and system runtime.
