The NORDIC PURE 16x20x1M14+C-24 is a MERV 14 pleated air filter with an integrated activated carbon layer, sold in a 24-pack. Electrostatically charged synthetic media captures fine airborne particulates while the activated carbon panel adsorbs odorous gases and volatile organic compounds (VOCs). The filter carries a MERV 14 efficiency rating, equivalent to MPR 2800, making it one of the higher-performing residential filter grades available. Antimicrobial treatment of the filter media inhibits bacterial and mold growth within the filter itself. A metal mesh support grid bonded to the pleats maintains structural integrity under sustained airflow, and the moisture-resistant beverage board frame resists deformation in humid return-air environments.
This filter is designed for residential and light-commercial HVAC systems where both fine-particulate capture and odor control are priorities. The MERV 14 rating is appropriate for high-efficiency forced-air systems, including newer equipment rated to accept MERV 13 and above. It is well suited for installations where occupants have allergy or asthma concerns, or where indoor odor sources such as cooking, pets, or smoke are present. The 16x20x1 nominal size fits a wide range of standard residential air handler filter tracks and return-air grille housings. Replacement interval is typically 30 to 90 days depending on indoor air quality conditions and system runtime.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement pleated filter for residential and light-commercial forced-air HVAC systems accepting a 16x20x1 nominal filter size. Actual dimensions are 15.5 x 19.5 x 0.75 inches; verify the filter track clearance against actual size before ordering. HVAC equipment must be rated to handle MERV 14 or higher static pressure drop; consult system documentation before installing high-MERV filters in older or low-efficiency equipment.
Installation is performed by HVAC technicians or qualified service personnel. Always shut down the air handler or furnace at the disconnect or thermostat before removing the existing filter. Confirm airflow direction arrow on the filter frame is oriented toward the blower, not toward the return duct. Because MERV 14 filters impose higher static pressure than lower-rated media, verify that the installed system is rated for this pressure drop before use; installing high-MERV filters in undersized or older systems can reduce airflow, degrade efficiency, and cause heat exchanger stress.
