The NORDIC PURE 14x30x1PCP-2 is a pleated activated carbon air filter designed to capture odors, volatile organic compounds (VOCs), and airborne particles in residential and light commercial HVAC systems. The filter media is a non-woven polyester base infused with naturally derived charcoal, delivering approximately MERV 8 particle efficiency alongside dedicated odor neutralization. The pleated construction provides roughly three times the carbon media surface area of a flat-panel carbon filter while maintaining low static pressure drop. A moisture-resistant beverage board frame and internal metal mesh support grid keep the pleats stable under airflow. Each pack contains two filters. Nominal size is 14 x 30 x 1 inch with an actual size of 13.94 x 29.94 x 0.75 inches.
This filter is suited for residential installations in single-family homes and apartments where pet odors, cooking smells, smoke, bathroom odors, or VOCs from cleaning products are a concern. It also works as a pre-filter stage in higher-efficiency commercial HVAC units to handle heavy odor loads before air reaches a downstream high-MERV filter. Recommended replacement interval is every 30 to 90 days depending on odor load and usage conditions. Licensed HVAC technicians and knowledgeable homeowners both install this filter during routine maintenance calls.
Designed as a direct-fit replacement for standard 14 x 30 x 1 inch nominal filter slots in residential furnaces, air handlers, and A/C systems. Actual dimensions are 13.94 x 29.94 x 0.75 inches - measure the existing filter slot before ordering to confirm fitment, as nominal and actual sizes differ across equipment brands.
Installation is performed by licensed HVAC technicians or qualified homeowners during routine filter maintenance. Always set the system thermostat to the off position and confirm the air handler has stopped before removing the old filter. Note the airflow direction arrow printed on the filter frame and orient the replacement filter so the arrow points toward the blower. Replace every 30 to 90 days under normal conditions, or more frequently in high-odor or high-particulate environments.
