The NORDIC PURE 14x25x1M8-12 is a pleated MERV 8 air filter designed for residential and light commercial HVAC systems, including central air conditioners and gas or electric furnaces. Sold in a 12-pack, each filter measures 13.5 x 24.5 x 0.75 inches actual size with a nominal size of 14 x 25 x 1 inches. The electrostatically charged, pleated media captures lint, dust, pollen, pet dander, dust mites, mold spores, bacteria, and other airborne contaminants on each pass through the air handler. The moisture-resistant beverage board frame holds its shape under typical residential and commercial system static pressure.
These filters are suited for forced-air heating and cooling systems in homes, apartments, and office environments. The MERV 8 rating makes them a practical upgrade over standard fiberglass panel filters, providing meaningfully better particle capture without creating excessive restriction in most residential systems. They are particularly well-suited for households with pets, allergy sufferers, or anyone running their HVAC system through construction or renovation work. Recommended replacement interval is every one to three months depending on occupant load, pet presence, and local air quality conditions.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement for residential and light commercial forced-air furnace and air conditioner systems requiring a nominal 14 x 25 x 1 inch filter. Verify the actual slot dimensions before ordering, as nominal and actual filter sizes differ; the actual size of this filter is 13.5 x 24.5 x 0.75 inches.
Filter installation is typically performed by HVAC technicians or qualified building maintenance staff, though homeowners commonly handle routine filter changes. Always shut down the air handler at the thermostat or disconnect switch before removing or inserting a filter. Confirm airflow direction by matching the arrow printed on the filter frame to the direction of airflow toward the blower. Inspect the filter slot and door seal for bypass gaps before returning the unit to service.
