The NORDIC PURE 14x20x1PCP-2 is a pure carbon pleated air filter designed to reduce odors and capture airborne particulates in residential and light commercial HVAC systems. The filter media is a non-woven polyester base infused with naturally derived charcoal, delivering approximately MERV 8 efficiency for particulate capture alongside active odor and VOC reduction. A metal mesh support grid is bonded to the pleats for structural rigidity, and the frame is constructed from heavy-duty, moisture-resistant beverage board. Each box contains two filters. Actual size is 13.5 inches by 19.5 inches by 0.75 inches, which is standard for a 14x20x1 nominal slot.
This filter is suited for residential installations in homes and apartments where pet odors, cooking smells, smoke, or VOC off-gassing from cleaning products are ongoing concerns. It can also serve as a pre-filter ahead of high-efficiency commercial HVAC units to reduce odor loading on downstream filtration media. Nordic Pure recommends replacing this filter every 30 to 90 days depending on odor load and air quality conditions. It is not a substitute for a dedicated high-MERV particulate filter in applications requiring fine particle removal.
Fits any residential or light commercial HVAC system, air handler, or furnace with a nominal 14x20x1 filter slot. Verify the actual opening dimensions against the 13.5 inch by 19.5 inch by 0.75 inch actual size before ordering, as nominal and actual filter dimensions are not the same across all equipment brands.
Air filters in this size class are typically installed by HVAC technicians or knowledgeable homeowners during routine maintenance. Always set the system to off at the thermostat before removing and replacing the filter. Confirm airflow direction arrows on the filter frame align with the direction of airflow toward the blower. For maximum odor control, inspect the filter monthly and replace every 30 to 90 days based on conditions.
