The NORDIC PURE 14x20x1M14+C-24 is a pleated air filter rated MERV 14 with an integrated activated carbon layer, sold in a 24-pack. The electrostatically charged synthetic filter media captures fine airborne particulates while the activated carbon panel adsorbs odorous gases and volatile organic compounds (VOCs). The nominal size is 14x20x1 inches with an actual size of 13.5 x 19.5 x 0.75 inches. This filter is designed for residential and commercial forced-air HVAC systems where both high-efficiency particulate removal and odor control are required. A metal mesh support grid bonded to the pleats reinforces the media, and the frame is constructed from moisture-resistant beverage board. HVAC technicians and homeowners familiar with high-efficiency filtration will recognize this as a direct replacement for systems rated to handle MERV 14 and above.
This filter is suited for residential and light-commercial HVAC applications where indoor air quality is a priority. The MERV 14 rating places it in a high-efficiency category, making it appropriate for newer, high-efficiency forced-air systems, including those designed for HEPA-grade filtration. It addresses common indoor air quality concerns including pet dander, smoke particles, mold spores, bacteria, pollen, dust mite debris, lint, and household dust. Because of the higher filtration efficiency and corresponding airflow restriction, the HVAC system must be rated to accommodate MERV 14 or higher filters before installation. This filter is equivalent to MPR 2800-rated filters.
Designed for forced-air HVAC systems with a 14x20x1 inch nominal filter opening that are rated to accept MERV 14 or higher filtration. Verify actual filter slot dimensions against the actual size of 13.5 x 19.5 x 0.75 inches before installation, as nominal and actual sizes differ.
Installation is typically performed by an HVAC technician or knowledgeable facility maintenance staff. Power down the air handler or furnace at the disconnect or breaker before removing the old filter. Confirm the system blower and cabinet are rated for MERV 14 or above, as higher-efficiency filters increase static pressure and can reduce airflow in undersized or older systems. Replace the filter every 30 to 90 days depending on indoor conditions, occupancy, and the presence of pets or renovation activity.
