The NORDIC PURE 14x18x1PCP-4 is a pure carbon pleated air filter designed to capture airborne particulates and absorb odors at a molecular level. Rated at approximately MERV 8, it traps lint, dust, pollen, pet dander, dust mites, mold spores, and smoke particles while simultaneously neutralizing household odors and reducing Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs). The filter media is a non-woven polyester base infused with activated carbon derived from natural charcoal and coconut shells. This four-pack fits a 14x18x1 nominal slot with an actual size of 13.5 x 17.5 x 0.75 inches. Licensed HVAC technicians and experienced DIYers install this filter in forced-air systems as a primary or pre-filter stage.
This filter is suited for residential applications in single-family homes and apartments where pet odors, cooking smells, smoke, bathroom odors, or VOCs from cleaning products are a concern. The pleated design delivers three times the carbon media volume compared to flat-panel carbon filters, maintaining adequate airflow while improving odor absorption. It can also serve as a pre-filter in commercial HVAC units where high-efficiency filtration is downstream. Nordic Pure recommends replacement every 30 to 90 days depending on the environment. The beverage board frame is moisture resistant, and the metal mesh support grid bonds to the pleats to maintain media integrity over the filter life.
Designed as a direct drop-in replacement for any residential or commercial forced-air HVAC system using a 14x18x1 nominal filter slot. Actual filter dimensions are 13.5 x 17.5 x 0.75 inches; verify the actual opening size before ordering to confirm fit.
This filter is installed by HVAC technicians or qualified building maintenance personnel. Power down the air handler or furnace at the disconnect before servicing the filter cabinet. Confirm airflow direction arrows on the filter frame align with system airflow before closing the cabinet. Replace every 30 to 90 days under normal operating conditions, and more frequently during renovation or high-dust activities to protect downstream HVAC equipment.
