The NORDIC PURE 12x20x1M7+C-24 is a pleated MERV 7 air filter with an integrated activated carbon layer, designed for residential HVAC systems including forced-air furnaces and central air conditioners. The filter media uses electrostatically charged synthetic fibers to capture airborne particulates, while the flat activated carbon panel adsorbs odorous gases and volatile organic compounds (VOCs). A metal mesh support grid bonds to the pleats for structural rigidity, and the frame is constructed from moisture-resistant beverage board. This filter is sold in a case of 24 and is sized at a nominal 12x20x1 inches with an actual size of 11.5 x 19.5 x 0.75 inches.
This filter is suited for residential homes and light commercial spaces where occupants want to reduce dust, allergens, and household odors simultaneously. It targets common contaminants including lint, household dust, pollen, dust mites, pet dander, bacteria, mold spores, and smoke particles. The added carbon stage makes it a practical choice for homes with pets, smokers, or recent renovation activity where both particulate and odor control are priorities. Regular replacement every 30 to 90 days is recommended to maintain airflow and filtration efficiency.
Designed as a nominal 12x20x1 inch replacement filter for standard residential and light commercial forced-air furnace and central air conditioning systems that accept a 1-inch pleated filter in that slot size. Verify the actual filter opening measures at least 11.5 x 19.5 x 0.75 inches before installation.
Air filter replacement is a standard HVAC maintenance task performed by HVAC technicians and knowledgeable homeowners. Before replacing the filter, set the thermostat to the off position to prevent the blower from drawing in unfiltered air during the swap. Confirm the airflow direction arrow on the filter frame aligns with the direction of airflow into the air handler or furnace before seating the filter. Filters should be inspected monthly and replaced every 30 to 90 days depending on indoor air quality conditions, occupancy, and pet presence.
