The NORDIC PURE 12x20x1M7-2 is a MERV 7 pleated air filter sold in a 2-pack, designed for use in residential and light commercial HVAC systems including forced-air furnaces and central air conditioners. The filter media is electrostatically charged to attract and capture airborne particles such as household dust, lint, pollen, mold spores, and pet dander. The frame is constructed from moisture-resistant beverage board for structural integrity in high-humidity air streams. With a nominal size of 12x20x1 and an actual size of 11.5 x 19.5 x 0.75 inches, this filter fits standard filter slots calling for that nominal dimension. MERV 7 performance is rated equivalent to MPR 600 on competing rating scales. The media is antimicrobial and will not promote bacterial or mold growth on the filter surface.
This filter is suited for residential homes, apartments, and light commercial spaces where baseline to moderate particulate filtration is required. It is appropriate for systems serving occupants with mild dust or pollen sensitivities. Typical installations include return-air filter grilles, filter cabinet enclosures, and upflow or downflow gas furnace filter slots. Replacement every 1 to 3 months is recommended under normal conditions, with more frequent changes in homes with pets, allergy sufferers, or during renovation activity that generates elevated airborne debris.
Designed as a replacement filter for residential and light commercial forced-air furnaces and central air conditioning systems that accept a nominal 12x20x1 filter. Verify the actual filter slot dimensions against the actual size of 11.5 x 19.5 x 0.75 inches before installation, as nominal and actual sizes differ.
Filter installation should be performed by a qualified HVAC technician or knowledgeable owner following system manufacturer guidelines. Always shut down the HVAC system at the thermostat and, where accessible, at the disconnect before removing the existing filter. Install the new filter with the airflow arrow on the frame pointing toward the blower and away from the return air duct. Regular filter changes protect heat exchangers, evaporator coils, and blower wheels from dust accumulation that reduces system efficiency.
