The NORDIC PURE 12x18x1PM10C-3 is a dual-layer pleated air filter combining a MERV 10 filtration medium with an activated carbon layer, sold in a 3-pack for residential and light-commercial HVAC systems. The two materials are fused together, reducing flow restriction while adding 33% more surface area compared to a single-layer design. The activated carbon layer adsorbs odorous gases, vapors, and volatile organic compounds (VOCs), while the MERV 10 pleated media captures airborne particulates including dust, pollen, pet dander, mold spores, and virus carriers. The nominal size is 12x18x1 inches with an actual size of 11.5 x 17.5 x 0.75 inches. A licensed HVAC technician or a qualified DIYer can install this filter in most standard forced-air systems.
This filter is suited for residential homes and light-commercial spaces where both particulate control and odor reduction are priorities. Typical applications include forced-air furnaces and central air conditioning systems with a standard 1-inch filter slot. It is especially useful in homes with pets, smokers, or occupants with allergies or asthma. Nordic Pure rates the MERV 10 Plus Carbon series as equivalent to MPR 1000. The filter media is permanently electrostatically charged to attract and hold dust particles more effectively than standard fiberglass or poly disposable filters. Nordic Pure recommends replacing the filter every 30 to 90 days depending on indoor and outdoor air quality conditions.
Designed as a standard OEM-style replacement for residential and light-commercial forced-air furnace and air conditioning systems using a 1-inch filter slot with a nominal 12x18x1 inch opening. Verify the actual opening in the unit against the actual filter size of 11.5 x 17.5 x 0.75 inches before installation, as nominal and actual sizes differ.
Power down the furnace or air handler at the disconnect or thermostat before servicing the filter compartment. Confirm airflow direction by matching the arrow printed on the filter frame to the direction of airflow toward the blower. Because actual dimensions differ from nominal size, measure the existing filter slot before ordering to ensure proper fit. Change this filter every 30 to 90 days, or more frequently during high-use periods or home renovation activity that increases airborne particulate levels.
