The NORDIC PURE 12x16x1PM10C-3 is a dual-media pleated air filter combining a MERV 10 filtration layer with an activated carbon layer fused together into a single filter. The MERV 10 rated media captures airborne particulates including dust, pollen, dust mites, pet dander, mold spores, and virus carriers. The activated carbon layer adsorbs odorous gases, vapors, and volatile organic compounds (VOCs), reducing unwanted smells while maintaining strong airflow. Each filter measures 11.5 x 15.5 x 0.75 inches actual size and ships in a pack of three. This filter is installed by HVAC technicians and knowledgeable homeowners in forced-air heating and cooling systems.
This filter is suited for residential and light commercial forced-air systems where both particulate removal and odor control are priorities. Typical applications include homes with pets, smokers, or occupants with allergies or chemical sensitivities. The MERV 10 rating makes it appropriate for systems that can handle moderate filtration resistance without airflow penalty from the dual-layer construction. The carbon layer provides added benefit in environments with cooking odors, VOCs from renovations, or other household odor sources. MERV 10 performance is comparable to MPR 900-1000 rated filters.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement filter for standard 1-inch filter slots in residential and light commercial forced-air furnace, air handler, and central air conditioning systems with a 12x16x1 nominal filter opening. Actual dimensions are 11.5 x 15.5 x 0.75 inches - verify your filter slot against actual size before ordering.
This filter is installed by HVAC technicians or qualified homeowners. Power down the air handler or furnace at the disconnect or thermostat before replacing the filter. Insert the filter with the airflow arrow on the frame pointing toward the blower, not toward the return. Inspect and replace every 30 to 90 days depending on indoor conditions, occupancy, and air quality demands - higher-traffic or pet-occupied spaces may require more frequent changes.
