The NORDIC PURE 12x16x1M7+C-2 is a pleated MERV 7 air filter with an integrated activated carbon layer, designed for residential HVAC systems. The electrostatically charged synthetic filter media captures airborne particulates while the activated carbon layer adsorbs odorous gases and volatile organic compounds (VOCs). Rated MERV 7, this filter targets lint, household dust, pollen, dust mites, mold spores, pet dander, and bacteria. The nominal size is 12 x 16 x 1 inches with an actual size of 11.5 x 15.5 x 0.75 inches. Each pack contains two filters. Licensed HVAC technicians and knowledgeable homeowners install this filter in forced-air furnace and air conditioning systems.
This filter is suited for residential forced-air heating and cooling systems where both particulate control and odor reduction are priorities. The dual-stage design handles typical household contaminants while the carbon layer addresses smoke particles, cooking odors, and other VOC sources. It is appropriate for homes with pets, allergy sensitivities, or ongoing indoor air quality concerns. The antimicrobial filter media inhibits the growth of bacteria and mold within the filter itself. Nordic Pure recommends changing this filter every 30 to 90 days depending on household conditions, with more frequent changes advised during home renovation activity or periods of heavy use.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement filter for residential forced-air furnaces and central air conditioning systems using a 12 x 16 x 1 inch nominal filter slot. Verify fit against the actual size of 11.5 x 15.5 x 0.75 inches before installation, as nominal and actual filter dimensions differ.
Always power down the furnace or air handler at the disconnect or thermostat before removing or installing the filter. Check the airflow direction arrow on the filter frame and align it toward the blower, not toward the return duct. HVAC technicians and informed homeowners can perform this service; no special tools are required. Replace the filter every 30 to 90 days or more frequently in high-dust or renovation environments to maintain system airflow and efficiency.
