Nordic Pure 12x16x1M14+C-6 Merv 14 Carbon Air Filter 6pk

Product Description

The NORDIC PURE 12x16x1M14+C-6 is a pleated MERV 14 air filter with activated carbon, sold in a 6-pack, designed for residential and light-commercial forced-air HVAC systems. The electrostatically charged synthetic media captures fine particulates down to the MERV 14 efficiency threshold while an integrated flat-panel activated carbon layer adsorbs odorous gases and volatile organic compounds (VOCs). The heavy-duty beverage board frame is moisture resistant, and a bonded metal mesh support grid stabilizes the pleats under sustained airflow. Antimicrobial treatment in the media inhibits bacterial and mold growth within the filter itself. The nominal size is 12x16x1 inches with an actual size of 11.5 x 15.5 x 0.75 inches.

This filter is suited for residential homes, apartments, and light-commercial spaces where both fine particulate control and odor reduction are priorities. Typical contaminants captured include household dust, pollen, lint, pet dander, dust mite debris, smoke particles, mold spores, and bacteria. The activated carbon layer addresses smoke odors, cooking smells, and VOCs that standard MERV-rated media alone cannot address. Because MERV 14 filtration creates meaningful static pressure drop, this filter is best matched to newer high-efficiency HVAC systems rated to handle MERV 14 or higher. It is not recommended for older, low-static-pressure systems. Replace every 30 to 90 days depending on indoor air quality conditions and usage.

Compatibility

Designed as an OEM-style replacement pleated filter for residential and light-commercial forced-air furnace, air handler, and central AC systems that accept a nominal 12x16x1 inch filter slot and are rated to operate with MERV 14 or higher filtration media.

Installation Notes

Installation is performed by HVAC technicians or qualified homeowners. Always shut down the air handler or furnace at the thermostat and disconnect power at the breaker before replacing the filter. Confirm airflow direction using the arrow printed on the filter frame and insert accordingly. Verify the actual slot dimensions against the actual filter size of 11.5 x 15.5 x 0.75 inches before installation, as nominal and actual sizes differ.
