The NORDIC PURE 12x16x1M10-3 is a three-pack of MERV 10 pleated air filters sized nominally at 12x16x1 inches, with an actual size of 11.5 x 15.5 x 0.75 inches. Rated MERV 10 per the ASHRAE filtration standard, these filters capture pollen, dust, pet dander, mold spores, bacteria, smoke particles, virus carriers, and other airborne contaminants on each pass through the media. The electrostatically charged, hypoallergenic media does not support bacterial or mold growth on the filter surface. The frame is constructed from moisture-resistant beverage board for structural integrity in forced-air applications. Licensed HVAC technicians and qualified service professionals install these filters in residential and light commercial air handling systems.
These filters are suited for residential furnaces, central air conditioners, and heat pump air handlers where MERV 10 filtration is specified. MERV 10 performance is equivalent to an MPR 1000 rating used by some manufacturers. They are a practical choice for households with mild allergy sufferers or pet owners who require a step up from basic filtration without the airflow restriction of higher-MERV media. ASHRAE guidelines inform the MERV rating scale, making cross-brand efficiency comparisons straightforward. Nordic Pure recommends replacing the filter every one to three months, with more frequent changes in high-dust or high-dander environments.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement for any residential or light commercial forced-air system that accepts a nominal 12x16x1 inch air filter. Verify the actual slot dimensions against the filter actual size of 11.5 x 15.5 x 0.75 inches before installation, as nominal and actual filter sizes differ across equipment manufacturers.
Power down or set the thermostat to the off position before removing the existing filter to prevent unfiltered air from bypassing the slot during changeout. Note the airflow direction arrow printed on the filter frame and orient it toward the blower, not toward the return duct. Dispose of the spent filter in a sealed bag to contain captured particulates. Inspect the filter monthly and replace every one to three months, or more frequently in high-dander or high-dust environments.
