The NORDIC PURE 10x24x1PCP-24 is a pure carbon pleated air filter rated MERV 8, sold in a 24-pack, designed for residential HVAC systems and as a pre-filter in commercial units. The filter media is a non-woven polyester base infused with activated carbon derived from charcoal and coconut shells, allowing it to capture airborne particulates while simultaneously absorbing odors and volatile organic compounds (VOCs) on a molecular level. The pleated design provides three times the carbon media surface area compared to flat-panel carbon filters, while maintaining adequate airflow across the filter face. Licensed HVAC technicians and facility maintenance professionals install these filters in standard 1-inch filter slots.
This filter is suited for residential applications including apartments, houses, and condominiums where pet odors, smoke, cooking smells, bathroom odors, and VOCs from cleaning products are a concern. It is also used as a pre-filter in commercial or industrial HVAC systems where high-efficiency filtration follows downstream but upstream odor control is needed first. The MERV 8 rating means the filter captures large airborne particles including lint, dust, pollen, pet dander, dust mites, mold spores, and smoke particles. Replacement is recommended every 30 to 90 days depending on the environment and odor load. The nominal size is 10 x 24 x 1 inches; the actual size is 9.5 x 23.5 x 0.75 inches.
Designed for residential furnaces, air handlers, and central air conditioning systems using a standard 1-inch filter slot with a nominal 10 x 24 x 1 inch opening. Also suitable as a pre-filter in commercial or industrial HVAC units requiring upstream odor and particulate control. Verify the actual filter cavity dimension before installation; the actual size of this filter is 9.5 x 23.5 x 0.75 inches.
Installation is performed by licensed HVAC technicians or qualified maintenance personnel. Always shut down the HVAC system at the thermostat and, where required, at the disconnect switch before removing or inserting filters. Confirm airflow direction arrows on the filter frame align with the direction of airflow into the air handler or furnace. For maximum odor control effectiveness, replace this filter every 30 to 90 days depending on occupancy, pet load, and environmental conditions.
