The NORDIC PURE 10x20x1PM12C-3 is a MERV 12 pleated plus carbon air filter sold in a 3-pack for residential and light commercial HVAC systems. The filter uses a dual-layer construction that fuses a MERV 12-rated pleated media with an activated carbon layer. This design reduces flow restriction while increasing surface area by 33 percent compared to single-layer alternatives. The activated carbon layer attracts and holds odorous gases and volatile organic compounds (VOCs), while the electrostatically charged pleated media captures fine airborne particulates. The nominal size is 10x20x1 inches with an actual size of 9.5 x 19.5 x 0.75 inches. HVAC technicians, plumbers, and building maintenance professionals routinely install these filters during scheduled service calls.
This filter is suited for residential forced-air furnaces and central air conditioning systems where both odor control and high-particulate filtration are required. Typical applications include homes with pets, smokers, allergy sufferers, or occupants sensitive to VOCs and airborne contaminants. The filter targets lint, household dust, pollen, smoke particles, dust mites, pet dander, virus carriers, mold spores, bacteria, and allergens. At MERV 12, this filter is rated equivalent to MPR 1500-1900, placing it well above standard fiberglass and poly disposable filters in filtration efficiency. The 3-pack format supports a standard 30-to-90-day replacement schedule across one to three service intervals.
Designed as a standard nominal 10x20x1 replacement filter for residential and light commercial forced-air furnace and air handler systems that accept a 10x20x1 nominal filter slot. Verify actual slot dimensions against the filter actual size of 9.5 x 19.5 x 0.75 inches before installation.
Installation is performed by HVAC technicians or qualified service personnel as part of routine filter maintenance. Power down or set the thermostat to off before opening the filter compartment to prevent unfiltered air bypass during the swap. Confirm airflow direction arrows on the filter frame align with the system airflow direction before seating the filter. Replace every 30 to 90 days depending on indoor air quality conditions, occupancy, and system runtime; more frequent changes are advisable during renovation or construction activity.
