The NORDIC PURE 10x20x1PM10C-2 is a MERV 10 pleated plus carbon air filter sold in a 2-pack for residential and light commercial HVAC systems. It combines a MERV-rated pleated filtration layer fused with an activated carbon layer, delivering both particulate capture and odor control in a single filter. The dual-material construction produces 33% more surface area than single-layer designs and reduces airflow restriction compared to standard carbon filters. The filter media is permanently electrostatically charged to attract and hold airborne particles, and the antimicrobial media resists bacterial and mold growth. Licensed HVAC technicians and knowledgeable homeowners typically install this filter during routine maintenance cycles.
This filter is suited for forced-air heating and cooling systems in residential homes and offices where occupants require both fine particulate control and odor reduction. Common applications include households with pets, smokers, allergy sufferers, or spaces undergoing renovation that generate elevated dust loads. The activated carbon layer captures odorous gases and volatile organic compounds (VOCs) with each air pass, making it well suited for environments where indoor air quality is a priority. Nordic Pure rates MERV 10 Plus Carbon performance as equivalent to MPR 1000, placing it above standard fiberglass, poly disposable, and washable filter types.
Designed as a direct-fit replacement for standard 10x20x1 nominal filter slots in residential and light commercial forced-air furnace, air handler, and HVAC systems. Actual dimensions are 9.5 x 19.5 x 0.75 inches; verify your filter slot accepts these actual measurements before installation.
Power down the HVAC system at the thermostat before removing the old filter and installing the new one. Confirm airflow direction by aligning the arrow printed on the filter frame with the direction of airflow toward the blower. Nordic Pure recommends replacing this filter every 30 to 90 days depending on indoor and outdoor conditions; more frequent changes are advisable during home renovations or periods of heavy system use. Always measure your actual filter slot opening and compare it to the actual filter dimensions rather than relying solely on the nominal size.
