The NOMACO THERMTC-118112 is a closed-cell rubber pipe insulation tube designed to reduce heat gain and condensation on cold-water and refrigerant piping systems. With a 1.125-inch inner diameter, a 1.5-inch wall thickness, and a 6-foot length per section, this insulation provides substantial thermal resistance suitable for demanding mechanical applications. The thick wall construction makes it well suited for low-temperature and chilled-water lines where condensation control and energy loss prevention are priorities. Licensed plumbers, HVAC technicians, and mechanical contractors typically install this product during new construction or retrofit work on pipe systems.
This insulation tube fits 1-inch CTS (copper tube size) pipe and 0.75-inch IPS (iron pipe size) pipe, covering a common range of residential and light commercial plumbing and refrigeration piping. Typical applications include chilled-water supply and return lines, domestic cold-water piping, suction lines in split-system and package HVAC equipment, and condensate drain lines routed through unconditioned spaces. The flexible rubber construction allows the insulation to conform around gradual bends and existing pipe runs without splitting.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and new-installation insulation for 1-inch CTS and 0.75-inch IPS pipe commonly found in residential and commercial plumbing and HVAC refrigerant line sets.
Pipe insulation of this type is typically installed by licensed plumbers or HVAC technicians following local mechanical codes and ASHRAE energy compliance requirements. Power down or shut off the refrigerant or fluid system before cutting and fitting insulation on active lines. Use a sharp utility knife for clean cuts and apply a compatible closed-cell rubber insulation adhesive at all butt joints and seams to maintain vapor barrier integrity. Avoid compressing the wall thickness during installation, as compression reduces the effective thermal resistance of the product.
