The NOMACO PIPEPOLY3-20 is a 3-inch diameter polyethylene gas pipe in a 20-foot length, designed for the distribution of natural gas and propane in underground or direct-burial applications. Polyethylene gas pipe is the standard material for modern gas distribution systems due to its resistance to corrosion and flexibility under ground movement. This pipe is typically installed by licensed plumbers and gas fitters working on residential and light commercial gas service lines.
This pipe is suited for underground gas distribution runs where rigid steel pipe is impractical or cost-prohibitive. At 3 inches in diameter, it is sized for main service lines or high-demand branch runs rather than individual appliance connections. Typical install scenarios include new residential gas service laterals, subdivision gas main extensions, and commercial gas yard piping. The 20-foot length accommodates standard trench runs with manageable joint intervals.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation pipe for underground polyethylene gas distribution systems. Consult local codes and the manufacturer for approved fittings, fusion methods, and pressure ratings before installation.
Installation must be performed by a licensed plumber or gas fitter in accordance with IFGC, NFPA 54, and all applicable local codes. Shut off gas service at the meter or main shutoff valve before making any connections. Polyethylene pipe must be joined using approved heat fusion or electrofusion methods only — mechanical compression fittings must be rated and listed for PE gas service. Tracer wire or approved marking tape must be installed above the pipe in the trench per most jurisdictions.
