The NOMACO PESFRED134 is an IPS socket fusion reducer designed for joining dissimilar pipe sizes in polyethylene piping systems. This fitting transitions a 1-inch IPS pipe down to a 3/4-inch IPS pipe using a heat-fusion joining method, creating a permanent, leak-free connection without adhesives, clamps, or mechanical fittings. Socket fusion reducers are a standard component in PE piping installations and are typically installed by licensed plumbers or pipefitters working on water service, irrigation, or industrial fluid systems.
This reducer is suited for use in residential and light commercial applications where polyethylene pipe is the specified material. It is commonly installed in water service lines, geothermal loops, and underground distribution piping where a size transition is required between main and branch runs. Socket fusion joining is required, making this fitting appropriate for trained technicians with access to the correct fusion tooling.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation fitting for IPS-dimensioned polyethylene piping systems requiring a 1-inch to 3/4-inch socket fusion reduction.
Socket fusion installation requires a properly sized fusion tool set to the correct temperature and dwell time per the pipe material specification. Shut off and depressurize the piping system fully before cutting or joining any section. Installation should be performed by a qualified plumber or pipefitter familiar with PE fusion procedures. Allow the joint to cool completely before restoring pressure to the system.
