The NIKCOLE MINI-SYSTEMS GIE7GW55LGOLD is a carbide threading insert engineered for precision thread cutting in both internal and external applications. Built to C6 material grade, this insert features a Titanium Nitride finish applied via PVD coating process, delivering improved wear resistance and extended tool life in demanding threading operations. The 55-degree included angle makes it compatible with Unified and Whitworth thread forms. With a corner radius of 0.0040 inches and a thickness of 0.0780 inches, this insert is sized for close-tolerance threading work. It is part of the Mini System series and is intended for use by machinists and CNC operators working in metal fabrication, job shops, and production turning environments.
This insert is suited for threading operations on lathes and CNC turning centers where left-hand thread cutting is required. The GIE insert style and 55-degree angle cover a range of standard thread profiles used in general machining, repair work, and precision component production. Its PVD-coated Titanium Nitride surface supports use in steel, alloy, and similar workpiece materials at production feed rates. Machinists working with internal bores or external diameters requiring left-hand thread forms will find this insert a direct fit for Mini System toolholders.
Designed for use with NIKCOLE Mini System series threading toolholders that accept the GIE insert style with a left-hand orientation and 55-degree included angle.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following the toolholder manufacturer's seating and clamping specifications. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and all power is off before changing inserts. Confirm the insert is fully seated in the pocket with no rocking before tightening the clamping screw. Inspect the insert edge and coating for chips or damage before each use.
