The NIKCOLE MINI-SYSTEMS GIE7GR1.0RGOLD is a solid carbide grooving insert designed for precision external grooving and parting operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. Built to the GIE insert style with a GR chip breaker, this right-hand insert features a 1.00 mm cutting width and a maximum depth of cut of 6.00 mm. The TiN coating is applied via PVD process, improving surface hardness and wear resistance. Held in place by a screw-type clamping method, the insert seats securely in compatible GIE-series toolholders. Material grade C6 makes it well suited for general-purpose turning of steel, cast iron, and similar workpiece materials. The full-radius geometry with a 0.50 mm corner radius produces a smooth groove profile.
This insert is used in production and job-shop turning environments where consistent, repeatable grooving results are required. It is appropriate for residential and light industrial machine shops running CNC or manual lathes. The 1.00 mm cutting width and 6.00 mm maximum depth of cut make it a practical choice for small-diameter groove work, O-ring groove machining, undercuts, and similar close-tolerance features. Machinists and tooling specialists working with the Nikcole Mini-Systems platform will find this insert a standard fit for their GIE-style toolholders.
Designed for use with GIE-series screw-clamp grooving toolholders in the Nikcole Mini-Systems platform. Refer to the manufacturer toolholder compatibility guide to confirm correct holder pairing before installation.
Insert installation and indexing should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician. Always power down and lock out the machine spindle before changing or indexing inserts. Use the appropriate torx or hex key to torque the clamping screw to the toolholder manufacturer specification. Inspect the insert pocket and clamping screw for wear or damage before seating a new insert.
