The NIKCOLE MINI-SYSTEMS GIE7GP2.0L L C5 is a solid carbide cutoff and grooving insert designed for precision parting and grooving operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. Built to the GIE insert style with a C5 material grade and a titanium nitride (TiN) coating, this insert delivers controlled cutting performance in a compact geometry. The 2.00 mm cutting width (0.0787 inches) and 7-degree left-hand lead angle make it well-suited for left-hand toolholder setups requiring accurate groove width and depth control. It is installed by CNC machinists and toolroom technicians working in production turning environments.
This insert is intended for cut-off and grooving applications across a range of workpiece materials suited to C5 carbide grade. The left-hand lead angle and left-hand insert hand designation mean it is matched to left-hand toolholders and insert-style grooving systems within the Nikcole Mini-Systems series. It is a multi-use insert capable of both parting and grooving in a single tool setup, reducing changeover time on turning centers. Typical applications include bar-feed production work and precision component grooving in job shop and production machining environments.
Designed for use with left-hand toolholders in the Nikcole Mini-Systems GIE series grooving and cutoff system. Verify toolholder designation accepts GIE-style inserts with a 2.00 mm blade width before ordering.
Insert seating and clamping should be performed with the machine powered off and the spindle fully stopped. Use the appropriate insert installation tool or wrench specified for the Nikcole Mini-Systems toolholder to avoid damaging the seating pocket or cutting edge. Confirm the insert hand and lead angle direction match the toolholder before engaging the workpiece. Follow shop safety procedures and applicable OSHA machining guidelines when changing inserts on live tooling setups.
