The NIKCOLE MINI-SYSTEMS GIE7GP1.ORRGOLD is a solid carbide cutoff and grooving insert designed for precision parting and groove operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. It features a 1.00 mm cutting width (0.0394 inches) and a 7-degree right-hand lead angle with a GP chipbreaker geometry. The insert is manufactured from C6 material grade solid carbide and carries a PVD-applied coated finish for extended tool life in demanding cut-off applications. Overall length is 17.00 mm (0.6693 inches) and cutting height is 7.00 mm (0.2756 inches). This insert is certified to ISO 9001 standards and is suited for machinists and toolroom operators working with tight tolerances on small-diameter workpieces.
This insert is used in cut-off and grooving applications in both production and job-shop environments. The right-hand lead angle and GP chipbreaker make it well suited for turning operations where chip control and consistent groove geometry are critical. Typical applications include parting off bar stock, shallow grooving, and profile work on lathes equipped with compatible GIE-series toolholders. The multi-use designation confirms suitability across both cut-off and grooving operations without retooling. It is appropriate for light to moderate material removal in applications where insert geometry precision directly affects finished part quality.
Designed for use with GIE-series Nikcole Mini-Systems toolholders. Confirm toolholder compatibility with the GIE insert style and the 1.00 mm cutting width specification before installation.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician familiar with indexable insert tooling. Ensure the lathe or turning center is fully powered down and the spindle is locked before seating or replacing the insert. Use the appropriate insert seating tool to secure the insert without applying lateral force to the cutting edge. Verify insert orientation and lead angle direction match the toolholder designation before resuming operation.
