The NIKCOLE MINI-SYSTEMS GIE7GP1.OR-R C2 is a solid carbide cutoff and grooving insert designed for precision parting and groove operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. It features a 1.00 mm (0.0394 inch) cutting width and a 7-degree right-hand lead angle, making it suited for tight-tolerance cut-off work on non-ferrous metal workpieces. The C2 carbide grade with a coated finish provides wear resistance for consistent performance during repetitive operations. The GP chipbreaker geometry supports chip control in grooving and parting applications. This insert is used by machinists and CNC operators in production and job shop environments.
This insert fits into the Nikcole Mini-Systems GIE toolholder system and is intended for cut-off and grooving operations on non-ferrous metals such as aluminum, brass, copper, and similar materials. The 7-degree lead angle and right-hand orientation make it appropriate for standard right-hand lathe setups. With a maximum depth of cut of 6.00 mm (0.2362 inch) and a cutting height of 7.00 mm (0.2756 inch), it handles typical parting and shallow grooving tasks on small to medium diameter workpieces. This is a multi-use insert suitable for both cut-off and grooving operations in the same toolholder.
Designed for use with the Nikcole Mini-Systems GIE toolholder series. Intended for cut-off and grooving of non-ferrous metal workpieces on CNC lathes and turning centers.
Installation and tool changes should be performed by qualified machinists or CNC tooling technicians with the machine in a full stop and lockout/tagout procedures followed. Verify the insert seats fully and evenly in the toolholder pocket before clamping. Inspect the clamping screw and toolholder pocket for wear or debris before installing a new insert. Follow the toolholder manufacturer's recommended clamping torque procedure for the GIE series.
