The NIKCOLE MINI-SYSTEMS GIE7GP1.5LRGOLD is a solid carbide cutoff and grooving insert designed for precision parting and grooving operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. Built to the GIE insert style with a GP chipbreaker geometry, it delivers a 1.5 mm cutting width and a maximum depth of cut of 6.00 mm. The PVD coating over a C6 carbide grade provides wear resistance suited for a broad range of workpiece materials. This insert is a right-hand lead angle, left-hand insert orientation configuration with a 7-degree lead angle, and is manufactured to ISO 9001 standards.
This insert is intended for cut-off and grooving applications in production turning environments. It fits the Nikcole Mini-Systems toolholder series and is well-suited for machinists and toolroom operators running high-volume or precision grooving work on bar stock, tubing, or turned components. The multi-use designation means it performs in both parting and grooving scenarios without requiring a dedicated single-purpose holder setup.
Designed for use with Nikcole Mini-Systems GIE-series toolholders. Verify holder pocket specification for GIE style, 1.5 mm insert size code, and left-hand insert orientation before installation.
Insert seating and clamping should be performed by a qualified machinist following the toolholder manufacturer's instructions. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before changing inserts. Use the correct torque tool specified by the holder manufacturer for the clamping screw - do not overtighten. Confirm insert orientation (left-hand) and lead angle direction (right-hand) match the intended cutting direction before initiating a cut.
