The NIKCOLE MINI-SYSTEMS GIE7GP1.5LNGOLD is a solid carbide cutoff and grooving insert from the Nikcole Mini-Systems series. It features a 1.5 mm (0.0591 inch) cutting width with a neutral lead angle and left-hand orientation, making it suited for precise parting and grooving operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. The GP chipbreaker geometry supports chip control across a range of workpiece materials. At a cutting height of 7.00 mm and an overall length of 17.00 mm, the insert is compact and designed for consistent, repeatable performance in tight radial clearance situations. The PVD coating and C6 material grade provide wear resistance for extended tool life in production environments.
This insert is intended for cut-off and grooving applications in machining operations where a left-hand, neutral lead angle insert is required. It is well suited for use on multi-use turning toolholders compatible with the GIE insert style. Machinists and CNC tooling specialists in job shops, production turning facilities, and precision component manufacturing will find this insert applicable to both light and moderate stock removal grooving work. The 1.5 mm cutting width is appropriate for narrow groove and parting operations where dimensional accuracy is critical.
Designed for use with GIE-style insert toolholders compatible with the Nikcole Mini-Systems series. The manufacturer cross-reference number is GIE-7-GP-1.5 L-N. Verify toolholder seat geometry and insert pocket dimensions before installation.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC tooling technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the tool turret is locked out before seating or removing inserts. Use the appropriate torque wrench and insert clamp screw specified by the toolholder manufacturer - do not overtighten, as carbide inserts are brittle and can fracture under excessive clamping force. Confirm insert seating is flush and secure before resuming cutting operations.
