The NIBCO NL7500D is a Y-pattern check valve designed to allow one-directional flow while preventing backflow in pressurized piping systems. Built with a bronze body and a nitrile butadiene rubber (NBR) seal, it handles working pressures up to 200 psi (WOG rating). The Y-pattern configuration reduces flow restriction compared to swing-style check valves, making it well-suited for applications where pressure drop is a concern. Both end connections are female NPT (FNPT x FNPT) for straightforward threaded installation. Sized at 2 inches, this valve is installed by licensed plumbers and pipefitters in commercial and industrial piping systems.
This check valve is appropriate for use in water, oil, and gas service within the rated pressure limits. The Y-pattern body design positions the internal disc at an angle to the flow path, which supports smoother flow characteristics and easier inline servicing compared to other check valve configurations. It is a common choice for mechanical rooms, boiler systems, pump discharge lines, and general process piping where backflow prevention is required. The FNPT x FNPT end connections make it compatible with standard threaded pipe installations without the need for special fittings or adapters.
Designed for use in standard 2-inch threaded piping systems handling water, oil, or gas service within the 200 psi WOG pressure rating. Verify fluid compatibility with the NBR seal material before installation in chemical or solvent service.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or pipefitter in accordance with applicable local plumbing codes and IPC guidelines. Depressurize and drain the system completely before removing any existing valve or fitting. Apply thread sealant or PTFE tape to male threads before making up the FNPT connections, and tighten to the torque appropriate for bronze-to-pipe thread joints per shop practice. Verify flow direction marked on the valve body before final assembly, as reversing a check valve renders it non-functional.
