The NIBCO NL1T005 is a non-rising stem gate valve designed for use in plumbing, hydronic, and general fluid-handling systems where reliable full-bore shutoff is required. Constructed with a bronze body, this valve features threaded end connections sized for 3/8 inch pipe and a union bonnet design that allows internal access for inspection and repacking without removing the valve from the line. The solid wedge disc provides positive sealing across the seat. Rated at Class 150, the NL1T005 is well suited for low-to-moderate pressure service on water, oil, and non-corrosive fluids. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters are the primary installers of this valve in both new construction and retrofit applications.
This gate valve is commonly installed in residential and light commercial plumbing systems, hydronic heating and cooling distribution lines, and general-purpose piping where a manual isolation valve is needed. The 3/8 inch threaded connection is compatible with standard NPT piping configurations, making it straightforward to install inline on supply or branch lines. Its compact bronze construction suits applications where corrosion resistance and long service life under normal operating pressures are priorities.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation gate valve for standard 3/8 inch NPT threaded piping systems in residential and light commercial plumbing and hydronic applications.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with applicable local plumbing codes and IPC guidelines. Shut off the upstream water supply and depressurize the line before threading the valve into place. Apply an appropriate thread sealant or PTFE tape to the male threads before assembly. Gate valves are intended for full-open or full-closed service and should not be used for throttling flow, as partial opening accelerates disc and seat wear.
