The NIBCO nf99kh8 is a full port, lead-free brass ball valve designed for press-to-connect copper piping systems. It ships with a hose cap and retainer attached to the valve body. The valve uses press female connections with an inboard bead and EPDM O-ring that compress onto the tube when a press-fit tool is applied, forming a watertight, permanent seal without flame, solder, or flux. The body is manufactured from a dezincification-resistant (DZR) lead-free brass alloy. Rated to 250 psi non-shock cold working pressure with a maximum service temperature of 250 degrees F, this valve suits demanding residential and light commercial plumbing applications.
This valve is intended for copper-to-copper press systems in residential and commercial plumbing installations. The press x hose end configuration makes it well suited for hose bib and equipment isolation points within cold and hot water distribution lines. A licensed plumber or pipefitter typically installs this valve where quick, flame-free joinery is required, such as occupied buildings or areas with fire restrictions. The included hose cap and retainer provide an immediate, ready-to-use assembly straight out of the package. This valve is not intended for gas service.
Designed for use with copper press piping systems at 3/4 inches. Conforms to MSS SP-145 and is certified to NSF/ANSI/CAN-61 and 372 for potable water contact, and listed under IAPMO/ANSI Z1157 (IGC 157). Not intended for gas use.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or qualified pipefitter familiar with press-fit systems. Shut off the water supply and relieve system pressure before installing or servicing this valve. A compatible press-fit tool with the correct jaw size for 3/4 inches copper is required to achieve a proper seal. Consult applicable local plumbing codes, IPC, and NSF certification requirements before installation in potable water systems.
