The NIBCO M071000 is a 1/2 inch CPVC 90-degree drop ear elbow designed for hot and cold water distribution in residential and light commercial plumbing systems. Slip x slip end connections allow for solvent-cement joining on both ends, providing a secure, leak-resistant joint. The drop ear configuration includes integral mounting ears that allow the fitting to be fastened to framing or blocking, which positions an outlet fitting flush to the wall surface for fixtures such as shower arms or wall-mounted faucets. Rated for a maximum working temperature of 180 degrees F, this fitting suits both domestic hot water and cold water supply applications. It is manufactured from CPVC material and meets NSF/ANSI potable water standards.
This fitting is suited for 1/2 inch CPVC pipe systems in residential new construction and remodel plumbing. It is commonly installed at rough-in stages to anchor supply stubs at walls for shower arms, tub spouts, or wall-mount faucet bodies. The fixed mounting ear plate keeps the outlet stationary under torque when connecting threaded trim, preventing pipe movement inside the wall. Plumbers working within IPC or local plumbing code frameworks will find this fitting appropriate for chlorinated polyvinyl chloride hot and cold supply lines.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation fitting for 1/2 inch CPVC solvent-weld plumbing systems in residential and light commercial hot and cold water supply applications.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with local plumbing code and IPC guidelines for CPVC solvent-cement joints. Shut off and depressurize the supply line before cutting into any existing system. Use only CPVC-rated primer and solvent cement — do not substitute PVC cement, as it is not rated for CPVC material. Allow full cure time per cement manufacturer instructions before restoring water pressure.
