The NIBCO INC W00720D is a 1/2-inch copper coupling with an integral dimple stop, designed for sweat (solder) connections in copper tubing systems. Manufactured to a lead-free standard, this fitting joins two lengths of copper tube end-to-end using standard solder-cup ends. The built-in dimple stop positions each tube at the correct insertion depth before soldering, ensuring consistent joint geometry and reducing the chance of a bridged or starved solder joint. It is a standard C600-pattern fitting installed by licensed plumbers and pipefitters in residential and light commercial water distribution piping.
This coupling is suited for potable water supply lines, hydronic distribution loops, and general copper tubing runs where a straight tube-to-tube connection is required. The 1/2-inch CxC configuration is among the most common sizes in residential water distribution work, found in branch supplies to fixtures, in-wall rough-in work, and repair splices. The lead-free construction meets federal and state safe-drinking-water requirements, making it appropriate for any potable water application.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and new-installation fitting compatible with standard 1/2-inch nominal copper tubing in CxC sweat configurations.
Installation is performed by a licensed plumber or pipefitter following applicable IPC or local plumbing code requirements. Shut off and depressurize the water supply, then fully drain the line before soldering to prevent steam voids in the joint. Clean tube ends and fitting cups with emery cloth and apply flux per the flux manufacturer's instructions before heating. Never apply heat to a pressurized or water-filled line.
