The NIBCO I098050 is a 1-1/2 inch drain, waste, and vent (DWV) sanitary tee molded from acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (ABS). It connects three pipe runs in a sanitary tee configuration using hub x hub x hub end connections, allowing a branch line to enter the main drain stack at a swept angle suited for gravity-flow drainage. Rated for a working temperature range of -40 degrees F to 180 degrees F, this fitting is well-suited for residential and light commercial DWV rough-in work. Weighing 0.2 pounds, it is a lightweight, easy-to-handle component that plumbers install as part of above-grade or below-grade drain systems.
This sanitary tee is used in residential and light commercial plumbing systems where DWV piping requires a branch takeoff from the main drainage line. Typical applications include bathroom groups, laundry drain connections, and kitchen sink drain rough-ins. The hub end connections accept standard 1-1/2 inch ABS pipe, solvent-cemented per manufacturer and code requirements. Manufactured under an ISO 9001:2008 quality management system, the fitting meets consistent dimensional and material standards expected for production plumbing work.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and new-installation fitting for 1-1/2 inch ABS DWV piping systems in residential and light commercial plumbing applications.
Installation is performed by licensed plumbers in accordance with the International Plumbing Code (IPC) or applicable local codes governing DWV piping systems. Pipe and fitting surfaces must be clean and dry before applying ABS solvent cement; follow the cement manufacturer's cure time before pressure-testing or backfilling. Ensure the sanitary tee is oriented correctly so the swept branch inlet follows the direction of flow toward the drain stack. Shut off water supply and verify the system is depressurized before making any connections in an active drain line.
