The NIBCO CN00050 is a 3/4 inch Schedule 80 polypropylene socket coupling designed for joining plastic pipe in fluid handling systems. It features a Slip x SR FIPT (slip socket by straight reinforced female iron pipe thread) end configuration, allowing one side to solvent-weld to pipe and the other to accept a threaded connection. Schedule 80 wall thickness provides added pressure capacity compared to Schedule 40, making it suitable for industrial, chemical, and process piping applications. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters are the typical installers. At 0.08 pounds, this lightweight fitting is easy to handle during installation.
The CN00050 is suited for use in residential, commercial, and light industrial piping systems where polypropylene's chemical resistance and temperature performance are required. Common applications include chemical feed lines, irrigation systems, industrial process piping, and corrosive-fluid service where metal fittings are not appropriate. The slip socket end accepts standard 3/4 inch plastic pipe for solvent welding, while the SR FIPT end provides a threaded transition point within the system.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation fitting for 3/4 inch Schedule 80 plastic piping systems using solvent-weld and threaded connections.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or qualified pipefitter following applicable IPC and local plumbing codes. Shut off the fluid supply and depressurize the line before cutting into the system. The slip socket end requires use of the appropriate polypropylene solvent cement and primer per manufacturer instructions. Do not apply pipe dope or thread sealant to the solvent-weld end.
