The NIBCO CE03948 is a Schedule 80 PVDF threaded pipe nipple designed for demanding industrial and chemical process piping applications. Manufactured from polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF), this nipple delivers outstanding resistance to corrosive fluids, UV exposure, and high temperatures. It measures 2 inches in nominal pipe size and 6 inches in length, with male NPT (MNPT) threads on both ends. Rated to 1360 psi maximum working pressure and a maximum working temperature of 280 degrees F, it is well suited for high-pressure chemical, ultrapure water, and aggressive-fluid piping systems. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters handling corrosive-media systems are the typical installers.
This nipple is used in industrial process piping, chemical distribution systems, and high-purity fluid handling where metal pipe would corrode or contaminate the process stream. Schedule 80 wall thickness provides the extra strength needed in pressure-rated runs. Common installation environments include chemical plants, water treatment facilities, semiconductor fabrication, and commercial plumbing systems carrying aggressive media. The natural PVDF finish is compatible with a wide range of acids, bases, and solvents.
Designed as an OEM-style Schedule 80 PVDF threaded nipple for 2-inch MNPT piping systems requiring ASTM D3222-compliant polyvinylidene fluoride components.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or qualified pipefitter following applicable IPC and local plumbing codes. Shut off and depressurize the system fully before making any threaded connections. Use PTFE thread tape or a chemical-compatible thread sealant rated for PVDF and the specific media in the line. Avoid over-torquing plastic threaded fittings, as excessive force can crack the fitting body even at Schedule 80 wall thickness.
