The NIBCO CE00400 is a Schedule 80 PVDF pipe coupling designed for joining 1-1/2 inch plastic piping systems. PVDF (polyvinylidene fluoride) is a high-purity thermoplastic well suited for aggressive chemical environments, making this coupling a standard choice in industrial process piping, chemical transfer lines, and corrosive fluid handling systems. Female iron pipe thread (FIPT) connections on both ends allow the fitting to thread directly onto male-threaded pipe or nipples. Licensed plumbers and industrial pipefitters are the primary installers for this type of fitting.
This coupling is intended for use in systems where chemical resistance, purity, and pressure-rated Schedule 80 performance are required. Typical applications include chemical processing facilities, water treatment plants, semiconductor manufacturing, and laboratory plumbing where PVDF is specified over PVC or CPVC due to its superior chemical and thermal resistance. The FIPT x FIPT end configuration suits installations where threaded connections are preferred or required by system design.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation fitting for Schedule 80 PVDF threaded piping systems using 1-1/2 inch nominal pipe with male iron pipe thread (MIPT) end connections.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or qualified pipefitter familiar with thermoplastic threaded fittings. Depressurize and drain the line completely before removing any existing fitting or making new connections. Use PTFE thread tape or an appropriate thread sealant rated for PVDF and the specific media being conveyed. Avoid over-tightening threaded plastic fittings, as excess torque can crack the fitting body.
