The NIBCO CE00250 is a Schedule 80 PVDF plastic pipe coupling designed for use in demanding fluid-handling systems where chemical resistance and elevated temperature tolerance are required. Built from polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF), this coupling handles maximum working temperatures up to 280 degrees F, making it suitable for hot process lines and aggressive chemical service. The FIPT x FIPT end connections allow straightforward threaded assembly with matching Schedule 80 plastic pipe. Licensed plumbers and industrial pipefitters are the typical installers for this type of fitting in commercial and industrial environments.
This coupling is suited for chemical processing, high-purity water systems, industrial plumbing, and other applications where standard PVC or CPVC fittings fall short due to chemical compatibility or temperature demands. Its Schedule 80 wall thickness provides added pressure rating compared to Schedule 40 fittings, giving it a place in higher-pressure service lines. NIBCO CE00250 conforms to ASTM D3222, the standard specification for unfilled PVDF plastic pipe and fittings.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard-service fitting for 1/2 inch Schedule 80 PVDF plastic piping systems with female iron pipe thread connections.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or qualified industrial pipefitter in accordance with applicable IPC or local plumbing codes. Shut off and depressurize the system fully before removing any existing fitting. Use PTFE thread tape or an approved thread sealant rated for PVDF and the service fluid when making threaded connections. Avoid over-torquing PVDF fittings, as plastic threads are more susceptible to cracking under excessive force than metal fittings.
