The NIBCO CE00000 is a 1/2 inch Schedule 80 PVDF socket coupling designed for joining plastic pipe in demanding fluid-handling systems. PVDF (polyvinylidene fluoride) offers excellent chemical resistance, making this fitting suitable for aggressive media including acids, bases, and solvents where standard PVC or CPVC fittings are not appropriate. The slip by SR FIPT end connections allow straightforward solvent-cement installation on one end and a female iron pipe thread connection on the other. Licensed plumbers and industrial pipefitters typically install this fitting in chemical processing, water treatment, and high-purity fluid systems.
This coupling is intended for use in Schedule 80 plastic piping systems where chemical compatibility and pressure resistance are priorities. The 1/2 inch size fits standard half-inch pipe runs in both residential and light commercial applications, as well as industrial installations involving corrosive or ultrapure fluid transfer. Its Schedule 80 wall thickness provides greater pressure capacity compared to Schedule 40 fittings, making it a common choice in process piping where higher working pressures or mechanical durability are required.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation fitting for Schedule 80 PVDF plastic piping systems with 1/2 inch pipe diameter.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or qualified pipefitter familiar with plastic piping systems. Depressurize and drain the piping system fully before cutting into any existing line. Use only PVDF-compatible solvent cement on the slip end and appropriate PTFE thread sealant on the SR FIPT connection. Refer to applicable IPC or local plumbing code requirements for support spacing and pressure testing after installation.
