The NIBCO CD04200 is a 2-inch Schedule 80 PVDF socket union designed for joining and disconnecting sections of plastic piping systems without cutting the line. PVDF (polyvinylidene fluoride) offers outstanding chemical resistance and handles aggressive media that would degrade standard PVC or CPVC fittings. The union features a slip socket on one end and a slip-ring female iron pipe thread (SR FIPT) on the other, allowing a secure, leak-free connection that can be broken apart for maintenance or component replacement. This fitting is used by licensed plumbers and industrial pipefitters working on chemical process, high-purity fluid, and industrial fluid handling systems.
This union is suited for Schedule 80 thermoplastic piping installations in commercial, industrial, and chemical processing environments. The red color coding allows quick visual identification on the line. The SR FIPT end accepts a threaded male adapter, while the slip socket end is solvent-cemented to PVDF pipe. Installation of PVDF Schedule 80 fittings should be performed by a licensed plumber or qualified pipefitter familiar with thermoplastic solvent-cement procedures. Depressurize and drain the line completely before disassembling or installing any union. Use only PVDF-compatible solvent cement on the slip socket end and do not over-torque the threaded SR FIPT connection, as excessive force can crack the fitting body. Local plumbing codes and ASTM standards for thermoplastic pressure piping should be followed throughout installation.
