The NIBCO CD03650 is a PVDF blind pipe flange designed to seal and terminate piping runs where a completely closed end is required. Manufactured from polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF), this flange offers strong chemical resistance, making it well suited for aggressive fluid handling systems in industrial and commercial plumbing applications. The Schedule 80 pressure rating provides additional wall thickness and durability compared to standard-weight fittings. With a 1-1/2 inch pipe size and a 5 inch outer diameter, this blank flange installs at the end of a flanged piping segment, blocking flow and allowing for system isolation, pressure testing, or future expansion access.
This blind flange is intended for use in chemical processing, water treatment, and industrial process piping systems where corrosion resistance and chemical compatibility are critical. PVDF is commonly specified for lines carrying acids, bases, and oxidizing agents where metal or standard thermoplastic fittings would degrade. Licensed plumbers, pipefitters, and industrial maintenance technicians typically install this fitting in commercial and industrial settings. The Schedule 80 rating supports elevated system pressures appropriate for demanding process environments.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation blind flange for 1-1/2 inch Schedule 80 PVDF flanged piping systems.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or qualified pipefitter familiar with thermoplastic flange assembly. Shut down and depressurize the piping system completely before removing or installing any flange component. Follow applicable IPC and ASME piping codes for flange bolt torque patterns and gasket selection. Avoid overtightening flange bolts, as PVDF is a thermoplastic material and excessive clamping force can cause cracking or deformation.
