The NIBCO CD02200 is a Schedule 80 PVDF thermoplastic pipe tee designed for demanding fluid handling applications in industrial and chemical process piping systems. Constructed from polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF), this fitting delivers excellent resistance to aggressive chemicals, UV exposure, and elevated temperatures up to 280 degrees F. The tee features female iron pipe thread (FIPT) connections on all three ports, allowing direct threaded assembly into Schedule 80 piping systems. At 1.31 pounds, it is lightweight relative to comparable metal fittings. Licensed plumbers and industrial pipefitters are the primary installers of this component.
This tee is suited for residential and commercial chemical process lines, high-purity water systems, industrial fluid transfer, and corrosive media handling where metal fittings are not appropriate. The FIPT x FIPT x FIPT end connections make it compatible with standard NPT-threaded Schedule 80 pipe and fittings. Its red color aids in visual identification of chemical or specialty process lines on a job site. Typical applications include laboratory plumbing, semiconductor fabrication water lines, and industrial chemical distribution systems.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation fitting for Schedule 80 PVDF threaded piping systems using standard NPT female iron pipe thread connections.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or qualified industrial pipefitter in accordance with applicable plumbing codes such as the IPC. Shut off and depressurize the piping system completely before removing or installing any threaded fittings. Use PTFE thread tape or a chemical-compatible thread sealant rated for PVDF and the specific media being conveyed. Do not over-torque PVDF threaded fittings, as the material is subject to cracking under excessive mechanical stress.
