The NIBCO CD02050 is a Schedule 80 PVDF thermoplastic pipe tee designed for demanding fluid handling applications where chemical resistance and pressure integrity are required. Sized at 3/4 inch with female iron pipe thread (FIPT) connections on all three ports, this tee allows branch connections in piping systems carrying corrosive chemicals, ultrapure water, or other aggressive media. PVDF (polyvinylidene fluoride) offers superior resistance to a wide range of acids, bases, and solvents compared to standard PVC or CPVC fittings. The red color aids in visual identification of chemical service lines. Licensed plumbers and industrial pipefitters are the typical installers for this class of fitting.
The CD02050 is suited for chemical process piping, industrial fluid transfer, semiconductor fabrication, laboratory plumbing, and water treatment systems where high-purity or corrosive-media handling is a priority. Schedule 80 wall thickness provides increased pressure rating and mechanical durability compared to Schedule 40, making this fitting appropriate for both above-ground and protected industrial installations. FIPT connections on all three ports allow direct threaded assembly with male-threaded Schedule 80 nipples, valves, or instrumentation fittings.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation fitting for Schedule 80 thermoplastic piping systems using 3/4 inch FIPT threaded connections in chemical, industrial, or high-purity fluid service applications.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or qualified industrial pipefitter familiar with thermoplastic threaded fittings. Depressurize and drain the piping system completely before removing or installing any fitting. Use PTFE thread tape or a chemical-compatible thread sealant rated for PVDF; do not use petroleum-based pipe dopes that may degrade PVDF. Follow applicable plumbing and mechanical codes, and do not overtighten threaded connections, as PVDF threads can crack under excessive torque.
