The NIBCO CD01100 is a 45-degree elbow pipe fitting manufactured from PVDF (polyvinylidene fluoride), a high-performance thermoplastic well suited for aggressive chemical and high-purity fluid systems. Sized at 1 inch with female iron pipe thread (FIPT) connections on both ends, this fitting is built to Schedule 80 wall thickness for increased pressure-bearing capacity. The red color coding identifies PVDF material at a glance on the job. Licensed plumbers and industrial pipefitters install this type of fitting in systems where chemical resistance, purity, or elevated operating temperatures rule out standard PVC or CPVC components.
This fitting is appropriate for residential and commercial plumbing applications involving corrosive media, high-purity water, or chemical process lines. The FIPT x FIPT end connections thread onto Schedule 80 male-threaded pipe or fittings. PVDF Schedule 80 elbows are commonly specified in chemical feed systems, semiconductor fabrication water lines, laboratory plumbing, and industrial process piping where material compatibility with the conveyed fluid is critical.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation fitting for 1 inch Schedule 80 PVDF threaded piping systems with FIPT connections.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or qualified pipefitter familiar with thermoplastic threaded systems. De-pressurize and drain the line completely before removing any existing fitting. Use PTFE thread tape or a compatible thread sealant rated for PVDF and the specific fluid being conveyed — verify sealant chemical compatibility before applying. Do not over-torque PVDF threaded fittings, as the material can crack under excessive mechanical stress; hand-tighten plus one to two turns with a strap wrench is the generally accepted practice for plastic threaded fittings.
