Product Description

The NIBCO CD00450 is a 2-inch Schedule 80 PVDF pipe coupling with female iron pipe thread (FIPT) connections on both ends. PVDF (polyvinylidene fluoride) is a high-performance thermoplastic rated for demanding chemical and industrial fluid handling applications. Schedule 80 wall thickness provides added pressure capacity over standard Schedule 40 fittings. The coupling joins two sections of same-diameter pipe in a straight run and is identified by its red color for quick material identification in the field. Installation is handled by licensed plumbers and pipefitters working on industrial or commercial piping systems.

This coupling is suited for chemical process piping, ultrapure water systems, industrial fluid transfer, and other applications where corrosion resistance and chemical compatibility are required. PVDF fittings are commonly specified in semiconductor, pharmaceutical, wastewater treatment, and aggressive-chemical handling environments where metal or standard thermoplastic fittings are not acceptable. Installation Notes

Use PTFE thread tape or a PVDF-compatible thread sealant rated for the service fluid — do not use sealants that may attack fluoropolymer materials. Avoid over-torquing PVDF threaded fittings, as the material can crack under excessive mechanical stress.
