The NIBCO CD00100 is a 1-inch Schedule 80 PVDF socket coupling designed for joining pipe sections in demanding chemical and industrial fluid systems. Constructed from polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF), it delivers strong resistance to corrosive chemicals, UV exposure, and high operating temperatures. The fitting uses a Slip x SR FIPT end connection configuration and is rated for continuous service from 73 degrees F up to 280 degrees F. Its red color provides quick visual identification on PVDF piping systems. Licensed plumbers and industrial pipefitters typically specify this type of coupling where aggressive media or elevated temperatures make standard PVC or CPVC unsuitable.
This coupling is suited for Schedule 80 PVDF piping systems in chemical processing, semiconductor manufacturing, water treatment, and industrial plumbing applications. The 1-inch size fits standard IPS pipe dimensions and is commonly installed in both above-ground and corrosive-environment piping runs where material integrity under thermal and chemical stress is a primary concern. It ships in single-unit quantities, making it practical for maintenance and repair work as well as new installation projects.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and new-installation fitting for 1-inch Schedule 80 PVDF piping systems conforming to ASTM D3222.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or qualified industrial pipefitter familiar with thermoplastic piping systems. Isolate and depressurize the line and drain all fluid before cutting into an existing system. PVDF socket fittings require solvent cement formulated specifically for PVDF material — do not use standard PVC or CPVC cement. Follow applicable plumbing codes, including IPC provisions for plastic pressure piping, and allow full cure time before returning the system to service.
