The NIBCO CD00050 is a 3/4-inch Schedule 80 PVDF socket coupling designed for joining plastic piping systems in demanding chemical and industrial service environments. PVDF (polyvinylidene fluoride) offers excellent resistance to corrosive fluids, UV exposure, and high-purity process applications. The fitting features Slip x SR FIPT end connections and is molded in red for quick visual identification in multi-system installations. Licensed plumbers and industrial pipe fitters install this coupling as a permanent, solvent-weld and threaded joining component where Schedule 80 wall thickness is specified.
This coupling is suited for chemical processing, ultrapure water systems, industrial plumbing, and laboratory piping where standard PVC or CPVC fittings are not chemically compatible with the process fluid. Schedule 80 PVDF fittings are commonly specified in commercial and light industrial settings. The Slip x SR FIPT configuration allows one socket-weld end and one female threaded end, giving installers flexibility when transitioning between solvent-welded runs and threaded components in the same system.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard-inventory fitting for Schedule 80 PVDF piping systems using 3/4-inch pipe.
Installation of Schedule 80 PVDF socket couplings should be performed by a licensed plumber or qualified pipe fitter familiar with plastic piping systems. Shut off and depressurize the system completely before cutting into any existing line. Use PVDF-compatible solvent cement on the slip end per the cement manufacturer's instructions, and apply appropriate PTFE thread sealant on the SR FIPT end. Follow all applicable plumbing codes, including IPC guidelines, for chemical and industrial piping installations.
