The NIBCO CC04850 is a Schedule 80 flush socket reducer bushing designed for plastic piping systems handling corrosive fluids, chemical process lines, and industrial plumbing applications. Molded from black polypropylene, it transitions a 1-inch spigot end into a 3/4-inch socket end, allowing a size reduction without adding extra fittings. The SPG x S end connection configuration makes it compatible with standard socket-weld assembly using solvent cement approved for polypropylene. Rated for a maximum working temperature of 180 degrees F, this bushing holds up in hot water and light chemical service where PVC would fall short. Plumbers and pipefitters working on Schedule 80 plastic systems will find this a direct, reliable reducer option.
This bushing is suited for residential and commercial piping installations where polypropylene Schedule 80 fittings are specified. Typical applications include chemical drainage, industrial process piping, and corrosion-resistant plumbing systems. The flush socket design keeps the fitting profile compact within tight assemblies. It is sold individually and is appropriate wherever a 1-inch to 3/4-inch inline reduction is required within a polypropylene Schedule 80 system.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard component for Schedule 80 polypropylene piping systems using SPG x S socket connections.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or pipefitter familiar with plastic Schedule 80 systems and applicable IPC or local plumbing code requirements. Shut off and depressurize the piping system completely before cutting in this fitting. Use only solvent cement formulated and listed for polypropylene; standard PVC cement is not compatible with polypropylene and will result in joint failure. Allow full cure time per the cement manufacturer instructions before restoring system pressure.
